B.I.
Brooks and Sons, Inc. has origins that go back to 1959 in
the material handling industry. Over that time we have seen
the material handling industry change a great deal, but we
have not lost our focus on providing quality products, excellent
service, and competitive pricing.
B.I. Brooks and Sons came about through a long transition.
The company was originally founded in 1959, through a previous
owner. In 1973 Boyd Brooks joined the firm as a sales engineer
and went about the business of carrying on the company's
policy of taking care of our customer's material handling
needs based on trust and fairness.
With the retirement of the founder of the company, Boyd
Brooks became sole owner in 1983 and Carol Brooks, his wife,
joined him in the capacity of office management. He soon
changed the name of the company to B.I. Brooks and Son, Inc.
with the addition of his oldest son Tom Brooks, who joined
the firm in 1984.
Tom graduated from Kansas State University with a Mechanical
Engineering degree. He continued the long company tradition
of treating customers with trust and fairness, and was a
tremendous addition to the engineering staff.
In 1988, John Brooks began his career in the sales department
and the company's name changed to B.I. Brooks and Son(s),
Inc. John graduated from the University of Kansas with a
bachelor's degree in Economics and Business.
In June of 1994 the family and company experienced the sad
passing of Boyd Brooks. The family and the employees pulled
together to overcome the loss and void that was left by Boyd.
Although, it was a struggle the first
year, we all stuck together and have since seen the company
grow tremendously. Carol is now the company CFO Tom
is the President.
We have not lost sight of the policy that was set 40 years
ago and carried on by the late Boyd Brooks, who passed it
onto his sons, and who continue it today: "Taking care
of our customer's material handling needs based on trust
and fairness". |
